The Commercial Victimisation Survey (CVS) is an annual survey of businesses in England and Wales. The CVS was previously run in 1994, 2002 and then annually from 2012 to 2022. The CVS did not run in 2019 and 2020 while it was paused to review user needs, and further delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This publication is based on data from the 2022 Commercial Victimisation Survey (CVS), which examines the extent of crime against businesses in England and Wales. The statistics covered include: the prevalence and frequency of crime experienced by businesses, the impact crime has on businesses, crime prevention practices of businesses, and attitudes of and reporting to the police.

This release is produced to the highest professional standards by statisticians in accordance with the Home Office’s Statement of Compliance with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
