Information security is a fundamental aspect of information management and is imperative for the digitalization of the aviation system. The loss of confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information may impact the safety and continuity of flight operations. This manual, which was developed by the Trust Framework Panel, will not only assist organizations in the planning and implementation of information security protection, but also can be used by organizations and information system owners to determine the appropriate level of protection for their information and implement a series of related information security objectives.


The manual provides an approach to address risks in an interconnected manner and to determine the level of confidentiality, integrity and the availability of protection required for information. Based on the level of protection required, a series of tiered information security objectives related to information security management are described.
