Generic Risk Assessment (GRA) 2.6 - Rescue of Trapped Persons, examines the hazards, risks and controls that relate to incidents where people are trapped and require release. It provides a starting point for Fire and Rescue Services to conduct their own assessments within the context of local conditions and existing organisational arrangements.

This generic risk assessment is primarily concerned with the following types of entrapments:

• Persons trapped in machinery
• Minor entrapments
• Removal of articles
