The English Housing Survey (EHS) is a national survey of people's housing circumstances and the condition and energy efficiency of housing in England. It is commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and run by a consortium of contractors led by NatCen Social Research. From time to time, MHCLG commissions work to improve EHS data collection and methodology. This report gives the findings from one such piece of work: a surveyor variability study (SVS) conducted using the 2014-15 EHS to assess the effects of surveyor variability on the precision of estimates from the EHS physical survey.
