This publication contains four statistical reports relating to road freight operations by GB- or UK-registered HGVs.

Domestic road freight statistics, United Kingdom: 2024
This statistical release summarises the latest statistics on the domestic activity of GB-registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) operating in the UK during 2024. It also summarises the activity of Northern Ireland (NI)-registered HGVs operating in the UK and in the island of Ireland during 2024.
It covers the amount and type of goods carried, as well as their origin and destination and the distance they travelled. The information is derived from surveys of businesses that operate road goods vehicles.

Heavy goods vehicle driver vacancies in the United Kingdom: 2024
These statistics include data about heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driver vacancies from quarter 4(October to December) 2021 to quarter 4 2024.
HGV businesses are asked about driver vacancies, the impact of vacancies on deliveries, financial incentives and wage increases for their HGV drivers.
This is collected as part of the domestic road freight haulage survey. These statistics are for the same period as the domestic road freight statistics.

International road freight statistics, United Kingdom: 2023
This statistical release summarises the latest statistics on the activity of UK-registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) operating internationally during 2024.
The information is derived from surveys of businesses that operate road goods vehicles. It covers the amount and type of goods carried by UK-registered HGVs, as well as their origin and destination and the distance they travelled.
The report also summarises the latest information the Traffic Commissioners from Great Britain on goods vehicle operator licences, and from Eurostat on cabotage and foreign-registered HGVs travelling to and from the UK.
