IMDG Code Training

IMDG Code Training

From January 2010 IMDG Code training is mandatory for all shore-side staff involved in dangerous goods transport by sea.

The new IMDG Code e-learning course can help ensure all staff are fully trained and comply with the latest regulations.

What is the IMDG e-learning tool?

What is the IMDG e-learning tool?

IMDG Code e-learning is a new training tool for shore-side staff involved in dangerous goods handling and transport, including shipping line staff processing dangerous goods bookings. The course is designed for compliance with both the general awareness and function-specific mandatory requirements in the IMDG Code.

Version 9 corresponds to IMDG Code Amendment 34-08 (in force from January 2010) IMO sales no. D211E

This new training tool delivers cost-effective compliance for all shore-side sectors:

  • Shippers and forwarders
  • Container packers and consolidators
  • Shipping line operations and booking staff
  • Stevedores
  • Port staff
  • Cargo surveyors

    • The course objective is to train shore-side personnel in the understanding and application of the IMDG Code to enable them to safely and efficiently perform their role in the transport of dangerous goods by sea.

Delivered as interactive modules tailored to job functions or as general awareness training, it minimises training time away from normal duties, reduces costs and ensures compliance with IMDG Code provisions.

At the end of each element are tests to ensure that a good understanding of the course content is being gained as the student progresses Students take the course at their own pace or within a set timeframe and can monitor their own progress as they proceed.
