The Health and Safety Executive has worked with the Fairgrounds and Amusement Parks Joint Advisory Committee to improve standards and to produce this revised guide.

HSG 175 incorporates improvements made over several years in this industry's practices. It deals with the safety of employers, employees and the general public using fairgrounds and amusement parks and gives advice on controlling risks, site layout and safe systems of work. It also provides information and guidance on fairground ride design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and inspection.
