Edward Stanford, who was at the forefront of Victorian cartography, produced these maps to show the railways, industrial development, new housing, docks and roads that were springing up all over London. All these are marked and much more.

These maps are so detailed that they show individual buildings, the gardens of suburban houses, seperate platforms of the new railway stations, railways, factories, docks, pubs, schools, roads, farms, workhouses, churches and even individual staties in London's squares.
